Nepal: Supporting New Journalism Academy

Interlink Academy is the partner of the new CMR Journalism Academy in Kathmandu. In a four-year long capacity building project, we will train educators and support the management in building the leading training institution for journalists in Nepal.

The CMR Nepal Journalism Academy is a long-term initiative by CMR-Nepal and Interlink Academy, supported by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The Academy aims to coach journalists through extensive blended-learning training and establish itself as a premier journalism training institute of Nepal by the end of 2025. Interlink Academy is closely involved in the administration of the Academy as well as the trainings conducted. The first Training-of-Trainers workshop was carried out by Erik Albrecht, one of Interlink Academy’s Chief Trainers.

The CMR Nepal Journalism Academy was formally opened in Kathmandu on November 22, 2022, by Dr Thomas Prinz, Ambassador of Germany, the Director of Interlink Academy, Werner Eggert, Secretary of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Pawan Acharya, as well as renowned journalists and media academics from all over Nepal. The launch of the Academy and especially Ambassador Prinz’s opening speech were extensively covered by the local press.
